Bayfront, Hamilton parking areas

Parking Facilities

Unlike parking in Toronto, Hamilton parking rates are still comparatively low and it can be either free or just a few dollars, depending on where you park.

There is free public parking at Bayfront Park formerly known as Harbourfront Park. There is no access from Bayfront Park to Pier 4 Park.. Bayfront Park public parking has a capacity for about 400 cars.

To access the East entrance to Pier 4 travel via very bottom of McNab Street North, James Street North or John Street North. At the bottom of all 3 streets, turn left onto Guise and the road goes straight into the East entrance to Pier 4 Park, with free public parking on the left just prior to the park entrance. Room here for about 40 cars.

The North end of Hamilton is mainly a residential area, so although there may be some free parking on certain streets, be respectful of the need for the residents to be able to park their own vehicles in front of their homes.

There are a variety of parking lots in downtown Hamilton, but many have a day time rate which runs until 6pm and then an evening rate after that. However, many of the street meters are free after 6pm so if you arrive in the evening, you may well be able to park for no charge.
